Yes, you’re permitted to ship up to 100 lbs of personal belongings inside your car, but they must be packed in a single bag or container, placed only in the trunk or rear cargo area. The front seat and foot area must remain completely clear, and the backseat must be empty unless pre-approved and included in your transport quote.
As per DOT regulations, no items can be placed outside the vehicle during transport, especially on open carrier transport. For enclosed auto transport, heavier or extra parts may be shipped if created.
Note: If you’re shipping your vehicle to or from Hawaii, personal items are strictly prohibited, and the port may reject your car if items are found.
