2 J's Auto Transport is the top-rated car shipping company in NYC, offering the fastest and easiest way to ship your vehicle to or from New York City.
2 J’s Auto Transport is a federally licensed auto transport broker with 13+ years of experience coordinating vehicle shipments across all 50 states, including all five New York City boroughs.
NYC is one of the most active auto transport markets in the country, and also one of the most logistically complex. The sheer volume of vehicles moving into and out of the city, combined with Manhattan’s carrier access limitations, makes NYC a market where working with an experienced broker matters more than almost anywhere else. We coordinate pickups and deliveries throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, with a clear understanding of what large carriers can and cannot access in each borough.
We’re a federally licensed auto transport broker (MC# 799000, USDOT# 02349019), bonded by the FMCSA and operating under USDOT regulations. Every carrier we dispatch carries active cargo insurance, which we verify before each job.

Joyce was amazing to work with from start to finish . My daughter was moving alone from Las Vegas to Chicago and the dates were constantly fluctuating. Joyce was so patient with me , understanding and empathetic to our needs . She made us feel like family . We used Sherpa years ago , and her customer service and communication was way beyond Sherpas ( and they gave excellent service as well, but Joyce blew them out of the water ) The price was competitive with the other carriers , but it really was her personality and customer service that sealed the deal . I would highly recommend using 2 Js auto transport over any of the more popular auto transporters. I spoke to atleast 5 other carriers before choosing 2js transport ( they were highly recommended by my brother , he used in past to get a car from California to Florida ) and I’m so glad we decided to use them . It was seamless and again the open line of communication was exceptional ! I can’t say enough great things about the whole process other than I would pick them hands down over any other carrier !Posted on Google![]()

Joyce and John are such a pleasure to work with. There are a lot of scams in this industry and thankfully this is a family owned company where they actually take care of you like you’re part of their own family. I would highly recommend using their services. Vehicle was picked up and delivered when they said it was, and it was delivered in perfect condition.Posted on Google![]()

This company is very professional and had great communication. I was a little nervous about transporting my vehicle for the first time but they stood behind everything they said they would and followed through from beginning to end. They were very fairly priced amongst competitors, readily available anytime I called or had questions and they were extremely helpful. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Much thanks to 2Js!Posted on Google![]()

Are you looking for auto transport service in NYC? Let's get in touch with 2 J's Auto Transport.
This is the most important logistics fact about NYC auto transport: standard multi-car haulers (75-foot open carriers) cannot navigate most Manhattan streets. The combination of low bridge clearances, narrow streets, commercial vehicle restrictions by time of day, and alternate side parking rules makes direct large carrier access to most Manhattan addresses impractical.
What we do instead: We coordinate carrier staging at accessible locations in New Jersey (Jersey City, Bayonne, Weehawken, Kearney) or in the outer boroughs (Bronx near I-95, Queens near the LIE, Brooklyn near the BQE). You drive to or from the staging point, typically a wide commercial street, parking lot, or highway service road within a reasonable distance of your address. We arrange this in advance and confirm the exact location with you before pickup day. No surprises.
For residents who cannot drive to a staging point, smaller single-car transport vehicles can sometimes navigate Manhattan streets directly. This option costs more and requires more lead time, but we coordinate it when needed.
Manhattan: Staging required for most large carrier pickups and deliveries. We use NJ staging (Jersey City, Bayonne) for Lower Manhattan and Midtown, and Bronx/Yonkers border staging for Upper Manhattan and Washington Heights. We coordinate the specific location based on your address when you book.
Brooklyn: The most carrier-accessible borough after Staten Island. Wide commercial streets in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Flatbush, Canarsie, and East Flatbush. I-278 (BQE/Gowanus Expressway) provides strong carrier access. Narrower streets in Williamsburg, DUMBO, and Brooklyn Heights may require a nearby staging point. Door-to-door is standard for most Brooklyn addresses.
Queens: JFK airport corridor (Jamaica, South Ozone Park, Howard Beach), Long Island City, Astoria, Flushing, all have wide commercial streets and strong carrier access via I-278 and I-495 (LIE). Far Rockaway and the Rockaway Peninsula require extra lead time. Door-to-door is standard for most Queens addresses.
Bronx: I-95 (Cross Bronx Expressway) and I-295 provide carrier access to Co-op City, Pelham Bay, Morris Park, and Fordham Road areas. The South Bronx near I-87 is accessible for commercial carriers. Carrier-friendly staging is available along the I-95 corridor. Door-to-door is available for most Bronx addresses.
Staten Island: The most carrier-friendly NYC borough. I-278 (Staten Island Expressway) access from the Goethals Bridge (from NJ) and Bayonne Bridge connects Staten Island to the national carrier network. Wide suburban streets across most of the island make door-to-door pickup and delivery standard.
NYC sits at one end of the country’s highest-volume auto transport corridors. Carrier density on outbound I-95 routes is among the best in the country.
| Route | Distance | Est. Cost | Typical Transit |
|---|---|---|---|

| NYC to Washington, DC | 225 mi | $350–$525 | 1–2 days |

Enclosed transport runs 30-40% higher. Manhattan staging adds a small coordination fee versus outer borough pickups on some routes.
NYC to Florida: the highest-volume snowbird lane in the country The NYC-to-Florida corridor is one of the busiest auto transport lanes in North America. New Yorkers relocating to or wintering in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and the Palm Beaches make this route a constant high-volume lane. Peak outbound season is October through December. Peak inbound (return) is March through May. Pricing on this route rises 20-30% during peak snowbird windows. If you’re planning a fall Florida shipment, book 3-4 weeks ahead.
Corporate and finance sector relocation: New York City is home to more Fortune 500 companies than any other US city. Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Bloomberg, and dozens of other major financial firms generate constant executive and staff relocation demand. Media (NBC, CBS, Netflix, Disney), tech (Google, Amazon, Meta), and legal sector moves add to a year-round relocation market that keeps NYC carrier availability strong in multiple directions.
NYC college and university vehicle shipping: NYU, Columbia, Fordham, New School, Brooklyn College, and the CUNY system generate significant student vehicle shipping demand around May graduation and August-September move-in. For university-area pickups, we coordinate staging at a convenient location near campus given parking restrictions in university neighborhoods.
NYC winter (January and February): Snow and ice can affect outer borough pickup scheduling and NJ staging lot access from December through February. Build 1-2 extra buffer days into winter shipments. Carrier availability on the I-95 southbound Florida corridor remains strong through winter given snowbird demand, but northbound returns in January and February can see thinner carrier density.
NYC Congestion Pricing Zone: As of 2025, vehicles entering Manhattan below 60th Street pay a congestion toll. This affects personal vehicles entering the zone but does not directly affect carrier operations, as carrier staging for Manhattan deliveries already routes around the central business district. If you are collecting your vehicle from a NJ staging point and driving back into Manhattan, be aware of the toll zone.
Commercial vehicle restrictions: NYC DOT enforces commercial vehicle time-of-day restrictions on many streets. Our carriers are familiar with these rules and plan pickups and staging accordingly. For large carrier moves in or near Manhattan, we typically schedule early morning windows (before 7 AM) when restrictions are lightest.

2 J’s Auto Transport has been coordinating vehicle shipments since 2012. NYC requires a broker who knows the Manhattan staging reality and how to coordinate it without surprising the customer on pickup day, the borough-by-borough access differences that determine whether a pickup is door-to-door or needs a nearby staging point, the NYC-to-Florida snowbird corridor’s peak windows and how far ahead to book, the finance and media sector relocation demand patterns that keep NYC carrier lanes well-served year-round, and the commercial vehicle time restrictions that govern when carriers can operate in and near the city. Every carrier we dispatch carries active cargo insurance, verified before each job. Clear quotes, no hidden fees, direct support throughout.

2 J’s Auto Transport is a federally licensed auto transport broker (MC# 799000, USDOT# 02349019). We don’t own trucks or employ drivers. We dispatch from a vetted network of FMCSA-compliant carriers. For NYC, that means matching your vehicle with a carrier already running I-95 along the East Coast, one experienced with NJ-to-Manhattan staging coordination, an enclosed carrier for finance executive relocation moves, or a Florida corridor specialist for the NYC snowbird lane. Every carrier carries active cargo insurance, verified before each job.

I recently used 2 J’s Auto Transport to transport my car across the country, and I couldn’t be happier with the service! From the very beginning, the team was professional and responsive, answering all my questions and providing a detailed quote with no hidden fees. The pickup was smooth, and they kept me updated throughout the entire process. My car arrived in perfect condition and even ahead of schedule! The driver was friendly and handled everything with care. I highly recommend Joyce and John for anyone looking for reliable and efficient auto transport services. They truly exceeded my expectations!

I buy and sell construction equipment all over the US and always go to 2 J’s for long distance transport. They are able to find excellent rates on partial loads within a day or two. The drivers they send are always very professional and helpful. I’ve received quotes from other dispatchers and sometimes drivers offer their services directly, but they can rarely offer compete with 2 J’s pricing or timely service.

You guys were awesome. Picked up on time, dropped off on time as promised. I was returning customer. I had used their service a year and a half back. They were good at that time and this time too they were fantastic. I was fortunate to have got an enclosed truck for the price of open. Seems they had a truck passing on my dates and they gladly put me there. Thank you, John. Thank you, Joyce. I would highly recommend their services.
